HOW TO BE SAVED

Ever wondered why evil exists in the world? Ever wondered why no matter how much good you try to do, something or someone comes along to trip you up?

I used to think this. While I did have an understanding of the story of creation with Adam and Eve disobeying Yahweh (YHWH aka God The Father), I did not understand why, even with the best of intentions, I just could not do what was right 100% of the time.

Like many, I hate the feeling of guilt and did all I could to avoid it. But it wasn’t until giving my life to Yahweh that I understood that the reason I hated that guilty feeling, was because it was not Yah's plan for my life.

You see, because of the sins of Adam and Eve, we are all under the curse of sin. Every man and woman, boy and girl are born into a sinful state and it is only by:

1.     Acknowledging you’re in sin (1 John 1:10)

2.     Acknowledging the Creator and His plan for sin through His Son (John 3:16)

3.     Repenting of your sins (1 John 1:9, Romans 10:9-10) and

4.     Continuing a lifestyle of repentance and communication with The Creator (1 John 1:6-7)

that you can be saved.

But saved from what exactly?

From eternal death! The Bible says in Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Well let’s put it this way, Revelation 21:8 says - But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

All sinners will be subject to the second death as described in Revelation 21:8 and will not receive eternal life.

John 3:3 says: Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

But this can all be avoided by the price that was paid on the cross when Yeshua (Jesus) died for our sins.

Here’s the thing…

You may have heard this message a hundred times before and still can’t get your head around it. That is because salvation is not a process for you to just intellectually engage with. In fact, it doesn’t make much sense to just ‘think’ about it. You must experience it to truly understand it.

When you take the step to approach the Father and ask Him for forgiveness from a sincere place, the Bible says: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9).

I get that it sounds too good to be true, but you have to look at it from His perspective. He is you Father and He want’s what’s best for you. He is desperate to have a relationship with you and to bless you, but He cannot go against the conditions He has set to make that happen. No one is above the law. We all have to come to Him in the way He has stipulated and made very clear to all who would accept Him.

You don’t have to be a good person to come to Him. It’s His job to help you clean your life up once you invite Him into you life. You just need a little bit of faith to take that step towards Him.

How to be saved - Here’s how to take that first step...

Read these words out loud in prayer:

Father in heaven, I thank you for your grace and mercy. I thank you for your gift of salvation and I believe that you sent your Son Yeshua The Messiah (Jesus Christ) to die on the cross for my sins. Please forgive me for every sin I have ever done either knowingly or unknowingly and please come into my life to change me. Please help me to live according to your Word and your plan. I thank you for all you are going to do, in Yeshua’s (Jesus) name, amen.

If you prayed that prayer and were sincere about it, congratulations! In this moment you are saved.

But please remember this is just the start of the journey. Matthew 24:13 says: But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. As stated in point 4, you must continue a lifestyle of repentance and communication with The Creator. If you fail to do this you will quickly turn back to a life of sin and no sinner can receive eternal life. It is very important to remember this.

Salvation is nurturing a day by day relationship with Yahweh.

Here are some recommended next steps...

a.     Start by reading The Bible. The book of John is a good place to start to learn about the life of Yeshua. Tip: If you can be on social media each day then there’s definitely time to read The Word each day. (Start off with a few verses). The reason it may feel hard is because trust me, satan doesn’t want you to read it.

There are lots of churches but the main thing is to get to know Yahweh for yourself.

b.     Get into prayer. In your own words, ask The Most High to lead you to the right church (or people) who can help to encourage you in the faith. It’s a life-long journey. Always compare what you are told with what the Bible says. The Bible is always the final word, not man’s opinion.

c.     Enjoy the journey! We are living through extremely difficult times but the more you pursue Yah (God) and do as the Word says, the more you will be protected and acquire the spiritual gifts that He promises, even during dark times.

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
