God’s plan.

The Bible is full of instructions of how we should live, however the Ten Commandments are the only rules that were handwritten by God. Exodus 31:18 And He gave unto Moses, when He had made an end of communing with Him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

You can find the ten commandments in Exodus 20.

1 And God spake all these words, saying,

2 I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

7 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

13 Thou shalt not kill.

14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.

15 Thou shalt not steal.

16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

James 2:10 tells us - For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.  In other words, if you kept all of the Commandments and broke just one then you are guilty of breaking all of the commandments.

So what’s the good news?

John 3:16 in the Bible says: For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.’

Heaven

Beyond this life is an existence that will never end. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand (John 10:28). It is promised to be better than anything we could imagine. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him (1 Corinthians 2:9).

However this place is reserved for those who love God. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3).

Salvation

God knew that you would need a Saviour because there is no perfect person.  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).

The Bible says Jesus is God’s only son and He is the only one through whom all mankind can be saved from eternal punishment.

John 14:6 states: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Jesus is the only one that we can go to God through if we want to have eternal life. Sin has entered the world and we are under its power.  No one can be set free from sin without Jesus.

If we have a right relationship with God’s Son Jesus today, we are acceptable to God who saves us by his Grace.  Salvation is God’s gift to all who call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Can we receive Eternal Life just by believing in what we think is right?

No. No one can come to God except through Jesus Christ.

Acts 4:12 - Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Salvation is a gift from God. You can’t earn it, work for it or ever be good enough to receive it. It only comes through believing by Faith that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

If we ask God, He will forgive all our sins no matter what we have done.

1 John 1:9 says: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

How to receive peace & forgiveness with God:

1.    Admit to God that you want to be free from sin’s death penalty

2.    Confess your sins to God, asking Him to forgive you for living without Him

3.    Believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead

4.    Receive by faith, ask Jesus to come into your heart to give you God’s free gift of salvation

The Sinner’s Prayer

Lord I admit that I need you and I confess my sin. Please forgive me for living without you. I believe your Son Jesus died on the cross for my sin. Please cleanse me now. I ask you to come into my heart and my life. Please be my Saviour from this day forward until you call me home. Amen.

The evidence of a new life in Christ will be peace in your heart, which will follow your confession of faith. You are now alive spiritually. You are now guaranteed eternal life in Heaven when you die if you continue to believe and trust God.  Once you have taken these steps, it is necessary to read the Bible and pray to God daily, asking Him to show you how to live according to his plan.  Romans 12:2 -And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

If you decided to take these steps, then we would like to congratulate you. You are at the beginning of an incredible journey with God.  It would be great to hear from you and to offer you support with your next steps.
