Through our outreach we collected a survey in Birmingham City Centre (June-July 2017) that revealed some of the reasons why people end up homeless on the streets:

- 30% of rough sleepers become homeless as a result of relationship breakdowns

- 13% of rough sleepers (66% of women) are homeless as the result of domestic violence

- 1 in 10 refuse to go into a hostel because they feel they will be introduced (or reintroduced) to drugs

- The average rough sleeper has been on the streets for 12 months

- 19% are in receipt of benefits

- Only 6% revealed they are receiving current support to access housing

Our next step is to access managed accommodation and mentor those individuals who want to change.
