A breakfast muffin, a tea and a portion of weed please.

God is good and only Him alone. People ask me, “why do you believe in God? Because God has done nothing for me.”

I always answer, “the God I serve wakes me up each morning with the most precious gift of all, the gift of life.”

I thank God for allowing me to be a Christian and to understand why it’s important to help others who live without the Holy Spirit which many refuse to receive. I can do no good and when I think I’m doing good, I end up doing more damage!

The Bible tells us “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33.   This verse has been my source of strength on the streets of Birmingham, West Midlands as we pray and do outreach. Spiritual wisdom is the key that is necessary to see things that others would ordinarily miss.

As a group at Active Christians Ministry, we arranged to go out on Saturday morning at 5am due to the cold snap which was the result of the Siberian Winter weather hitting the UK.

We decided to put something in place to help God’s children on the streets. We arranged to increase our outreach activities so on Saturday morning (our Sabbath), we set about helping those who cannot help themselves.

Loaded up with breakfast muffins, sandwiches, hot drinks and the Holy Spirit - the Ruach Hakodesh as our guild, we soon found plenty in need of a prayer and resources.

It wasn’t long before a tall, slim gentlemen came up to us and said, “do you want to buy some weed? Excuse me? Do you want to buy some weed?”

Now I had to stop and really think hard as I looked him in the eyes and said “God bless you, no I do not want to purchase some weed.”

As we continued to do God’s work I pondered where in England can I get a pizza at 5am in the morning delivered to me on the street without even a phone call? Stop. Ok you can’t... But I can purchase weed, an illegal drug at 5am quite openly being sold on the streets of our beautiful second city - Birmingham?  As a matter of fact, a city that pays security guards to stand outside the Council House in plain sight of the Queen Victoria statue to prevent homeless people sleeping on the steps of this public build. Yet will not open many of the empty buildings within the city centre and pay a security guard to watch out to make sure the homeless sleep in safety.

We soon found a young man who had taken these drugs staggering in the middle of the road desperately groping at his belongings like a helpless object in a pinball machine. Just then, a council refuge truck was trying to get past him. We gently spoke to him in a soft voice and he looked up sharply. We gently guided him to the pavement and offered him a hot drink and food. We prayed once he had consumed his food and he became a lot more compos mentis, responsive and able to stay out of harms way.

It’s not good for him to consume illegal drugs and definitely not productive on an empty stomach.

Please can we pray for the drug dealer who does not realise the harm he does and the suffering caused by his love of money over the love of life itself? The poor security guard caught up in an iniquitous system that dictates that he must himself freeze half to death in order to keep God’s Angels from sleeping on the steps of Birmingham Council House. And let’s not forget the victims of drug addiction which destroys God’s poor on the streets and opens up and lays bare our true heart as a nation.

Exposed for all to see, we are ALL to blame because we read this article and say thank you God that it’s not me.

Luke 18:7-9 KJV

7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

May God bless you and peace be with you. Shalom. Amen
